We have the choice of our lifetime to make on Nov. 3 — to either preserve our great nation and our foundational freedoms or accept a socialist future where the Washington, D.C., swamp returns to power, abandoning the hardworking men and women of America.
As a political outsider, I saw for decades how Washington politicians like my opponent failed the American people, and I promised to change the way things were done. I vowed to reverse decades of establishment failures to make America great again. Wisconsin voters put their faith in me, and I have delivered beyond anybody’s expectations.
Today, I’m running for reelection to preserve our remarkable record of accomplishments — a record that would be completely erased if Joe Biden, an empty vessel of the radical left, is elected president.
The first three years of my administration helped create more than 56,000 new jobs across Wisconsin, including 15,000 new manufacturing jobs. This historic wave of job creation helped drive the Wisconsin unemployment rate to its lowest level ever and ushered in an era of economic stability that lifted thousands of Wisconsinites out of poverty.
Thanks to the middle-income tax cuts that I signed into law in my first year, Wisconsin taxpayers have been saving over $1,400 in federal income taxes. Those tax cuts are projected to create more than 24,000 new jobs in the state over the next 10 years.
Our policies spurred new employment in Wisconsin, but we also protected these jobs with brand new trade policies that put the interests of American workers and businesses first. Trade with Canada and Mexico supports more than 231,000 jobs in Wisconsin, and the state exports around $10.5 billion to both countries each year.
That’s why the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) is so important for the Badger State. The USMCA ensures Wisconsin continues to reap the benefits from these trade partnerships and has made it much easier for Wisconsin producers to export goods all over North America. In a second term, I promise to continue negotiating the best trade agreements for our country and fighting to bring more factories and jobs back from China.
The policies I put in place set up our nation for a swift recovery when the coronavirus from China hit our shores. Thanks to bold and decisive action at my direction, including early restrictions on travel from China, Wisconsin’s economy is now in the middle of the most dynamic recovery in history.
My administration’s Paycheck Protection Program provided nearly $10 billion in forgivable loans to more than 89,000 Wisconsin businesses, allowing them to operate throughout the pandemic. In total, nearly 3 million Wisconsinites received Economic Impact Payments worth over $5 billion — crucial payments that helped provide economic stability for households across the state.
Every single one of these accomplishments is on the line this November, along with the promise of a recovering and thriving economy in the wake of the pandemic. If Joe Biden manages to win the presidential election, his administration would eliminate my America first policies and pursue an economic agenda that would devastate Wisconsin families.
Biden has pledged to raise taxes by $4 trillion, supports radical environmental regulations that would destroy Wisconsin’s energy sector, and will shut down the entire U.S. economy — a foolish idea that would trigger the biggest economic recession in America’s history.
Wisconsin families and businesses would suffer under a Biden administration. Throughout his 47 years, he has killed Wisconsin jobs through his support of bad trade deals like the NAFTA nightmare, so we know we cannot trust his judgment.
Biden also made the incredible admission at the final presidential debate that he is coming after the energy industry.
Biden has repeatedly pledged to ban fracking throughout his campaign, which will eliminate the jobs of 19 million Americans. This radical energy policy means the elimination of 300,000 Wisconsin jobs, according to a report by the Global Energy Institute at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. A fracking ban would not only kill jobs but cut state and local revenues by $8 billion, which would have to be made up by higher taxes on hardworking Wisconsinites.
Biden will absolutely surrender jobs to China, ship American jobs overseas, and surrender our country to the socialist left.
Wisconsin voters have an opportunity to save their state from a devastating return to the disastrous Obama-Biden era of globalism. My record speaks for itself — a vote for President Trump is a vote for a prosperous future in Wisconsin.
Four years ago, Wisconsin voters put their faith in me to change Washington, and I’ve delivered. Together, we have made America powerful again. We have made America wealthy again. And we will make America great again.
Donald J. Trump is president of the United States and a Republican candidate for reelection.
