Obama to Soros: Cool It. You Guys Are Going Too Far.

This isn’t a coincidence.

1. Deval Patrick, a candidate strongly backed by Obama’s people in the past, just made an urgent entry into the race. His only apparent reason for being there is to act as a replacement for Joe Biden and stave off Warren and Bernie.

2. Obama goes to the Democracy Alliance, the hub of the beast, and warns against excessive radicalism. That’s a warning to George Soros and much of the activist infrastructure and the major donors that have made this entire mess possible.

In an unusual address to a room of wealthy Democratic donors, Obama urged Democratic candidates to be pragmatic in their messages to voters. While he didn’t mention any specific presidential primary candidate or proposal, Obama warned that the average American voter does not align with views from “certain left-leaning Twitter feeds or the activist wing of our party.”

Obama said that his concerns aren’t a criticism of party activists, whose job he said is to “poke and prod and text and inspire and motivate.” But he emphasized that whoever the candidate is, their ultimate job is to get elected.

“Even as we push the envelope and we are bold in our vision we also have to be rooted in reality,” Obama said. “The average American doesn’t think we have to completely tear down the system and remake it.”

“I don’t think we should be deluded into thinking that the resistance to certain approaches to things is simply because voters haven’t heard a bold enough proposal and if they hear something as bold as possible then immediately that’s going to activate them,” he said.

This is a signal that Obama is getting involved.

It’s not, as the media claims, a signal to Warren or Bernie. He could get them on the phone any day of the week. It’s a signal to the very people who made his candidacy possible to rein in the radicals they’ve been funding. Not because Obama disagrees with their goals, but with their style.

Obama, rightly, worries that the overt radicalism and the extreme proposals, will tank the Democrats and reelect President Trump.

And so the radical is warning about the dangers of radicalism.

He also isn’t too happy with candidates taking shots at him or the growing efforts to replace ObamaCare. And he’s taking that warning to the people who actually control the Democrats. Even though they aren’t likely to listen. But he may now have a candidate to carry his message.

The primaries are getting interesting again.

But I suspect that all this will do is demonstrate Obama’s irrelevance. The Democracy Alliance made him. It will now shrug him off.
