The welfare state in this country has continued to spiral out of control due to rampant abuse by many who refuse to better themselves and depend on big government to take care of their every need.
If welfare abuse and the growing number of those exploiting the system weren’t bad enough, new data was recently released that tells a very disturbing tale of those who live off the hard work of others — and it’s infuriating.
According to data compiled from 2007 through 2010 by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 40 percent of food stamp users are obese, compared to 30 percent of those not on the program.
In other words, that hard-earned money of yours is going to people like the mother and daughter who refuse to work because they’re too fat.
And yeah, they’re eating way more than your family, thanks to your daily hard work.
The data also clearly showed that children of those on food stamps were much more likely to be obese than those who weren’t (H/T Right Wing News).
What this data highlighted is that when one doesn’t have to pay for one’s own food, one tends to eat more. Imagine that.
This is further proof why the push for limiting the type of food items that can be purchased with welfare benefits should be given priority. Banning what many identify as treats, such as chips, cookies and soda from being purchased with government assistance might go a long way in changing those staggering numbers for the better in the long run.
But the real answer is to get people off of the welfare role and end the cycle of unconstitutional government handouts once and for all.
