Iran warns US about response to destabilizing actions

Tehran, Iran warned the United States again on Saturday about the response from the Islamic Republic to any destabilizing actions from Washington.
Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Yavad Zarif suggested to President Donald Trump to prevent any military operations against Iran, as he will receive an overwhelming response.

In a message published on social networks, Zarif commented on a conspiracy planned by Israel to perpetrate a false positive attack on US troops deployed in Iraq.

That way, Trump would have a pretext for an adventure against Iran before leaving office on January 20.

The head of Iranian diplomacy warned the outgoing president of the United States not to play Israel’s game, which would cause a clash of unpredictable consequences between Tehran and Washington.

‘Beware of a staged farce, the pyrotechnics that you might order will have a serious response from Iran, especially against your allies in the region,’ Zarif said in his usual scathing tone.

Several Iranian political and military officials issued warnings on Saturday over possible hostile movements against Iran, on the first anniversary of the killing of Commander Qassem Soleimani.

“New intelligence from Iraq indicates that Israeli agent-provocateurs are plotting attacks against Americans-putting an outgoing Trump in a bind with a fake casus belli,” Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote on social media, as quoted by official news agency IRNA.

Iran’s chief diplomat called on the United States President Donald Trump to “be careful of a trap.”Major General Hossein Salami, commander in chief of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), also issued a warning against hostile action taken against Iran.

“We have shown it in practice, and we announce that we will respond to any action taken by the enemy against us with a reciprocal, decisive and solid blow,” Salami declared, semi-official news agency Tasnim reported.

Iranian Minister of Defense Brigadier-General Amir Hatami reiterated on Sunday that Iran will take revenge of the US assassination of Lieutenant-General Qasem Soleimani.

Hatami made the remarks at a ceremony in a military academy in Tehran to commemorate General Soleimani at the first anniversary.

Hatami said that the Ministry of Defense is pursuing the ideas of General Soleimani in the fight against Takfiri terrorist groups.

Referring to the attempts made by the enemies to undermine Iran’s regional influence, the minister said Iran’s active role in the region contradicts with the interests of some other regional players who see their interests in obeying the extra-regional powers.

Hatami noted that Iran’s great revenge of General Soleimani’s blood is pushing the US forces out of the region.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday that Iran would cut the US legs off the region in retaliation for assassination of General Soleimani.

“You cut the hand of our General and your legs will be cut off from the region,” the president said speaking during a cabinet session.

The Iranian people reserve the right to take revenge of the blood of their General, Rouhani said.

“As long as you are present in this region, it means we have not taken the final revenge.”

Iranian Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani and Iraqi commander Abu Mahdi Al-Mohandes were assassinated in a drone attack on their motorcade at Baghdad airport on January 3, 2020.
