BATTLEFORWORLD.COM | August 15, 2021: Legal action against Hawaii’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate is being filed by representatives of the state’s union members of approximately 1,200 first responders, at a news conference hosted by attorney Michael Green’s office on Thursday (August 12).
The plan is to try and stop the mandate which takes effect Monday, August 16 – for police officers, firefighters and other first responders to get vaccinated.
“They’re just asking for the chance to choose,” said attorney Shawn Luiz. And that “It’s a personal, autonomous, healthcare decision, and everyone should make their own choice, whether or not they want to take a vaccine or not.”
Capt. Kaimi Pelekai of the Honolulu Fire Department, said: “I have to choose between that career that I’m committed to or put in an experimental drug that I don’t know what it’s gonna do to me in my body, or I got to give all that up.”
County workers have been sent letters saying to either get vaccinated or show proof of religious or medical exemption by Monday, or possibly lose their job.
A lawyer from the group representing the emergency responders provided data backing their decision to forego taking the experimental COVID-19 jabs. And noted that “The tests we’ve seen around the country from doctors are showing that almost 45,000 people that got these vaccinations were dead in 72 hours,” said attorney Michael Green at the press conference.
